Wedding favors are used to show appreciation to those who have attended your wedding.

It is important to pick out the right favor to give to your special guests because although they may not remember the colors of your bouquet, they will remember what they took home with them as a wedding memento.

Take some time to decide what favor you will have at your reception, taking into consideration the type of wedding you are having, and the personality of the bride and groom. If the wedding has a theme it may be easier to pick favors based on that theme.

Brides often pick practical wedding favors because they know that when the guests use them, they will remember the wedding in which they received them. Practical favors such as CD cases, key chains, coasters, cookie cutters, bottle openers, letter openers, and personalized mugs are popular practical favors.

Personalized favors such as monogrammed photo frames; pens, candles or place cards are usually done with the name of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding.

Traditional favors such as a long-stemmed rose in a vase, candies wrapped in tissue, metal heart containers filled with mints are often used because the favors express love and are treasured by guests.

The bride and groom could also pick favors that fit in with their lifestyles such as if the groom loves to golf perfect wedding favors may be personalized golf balls and tees. If the bride works as a dental hygienist they may give toothbrushes with their names and date of the wedding on the handles.

Seasonal weddings favors such as monogrammed beach balls, seed packets, Christmas ornaments personalized with the wedding information can be unique favors for the guests to take home.

There are many wedding favors that can be monogrammed such as place cards, coasters, champagne flutes, bottled water labels, cookies, ornaments, shot glasses, votive candles, chocolates, petit fours, notepads, favor boxes and mugs.

Probably the favorite favors for guests are those that are edible such as chocolate coins, cookies, crackers or biscotti’s, chocolate candy favor boxes, wedding cocktail mixes, wedding coffee, wedding tea, wedding cappuccino, wedding cocoa mix, wedding honey, wedding box of mints or candy drops, and also sticks of gum.

You can have welcome goodie bags for your out-of-town wedding guests, kitchen favors, engraved favors, CD wedding favors, cultural wedding favors, wine wedding favors, glass-wedding favors, and of course monogrammed gifts and wedding favors.

In order to decide which favor type to go with you should take a look at how you selected the gown, flowers, or food? Is there a central theme or color scheme? Can you use that in deciding what favor to choose?

Think about whether or not kids will be at the reception when deciding what kind of favors to choose. Sometimes the best favors are the ones that remind the guests of the two that are getting married so the favor that shows your personality, or occupation, would be appreciated by your guests.

Remember that you are thanking your guests so make the favor something that they will appreciate or get some use out of.
