Most couples want their wedding favors to not just show appreciation to their guests; they also want to convey some sense of personality or style so that their wedding will be memorable to all who attend. The bride and groom may want to match their personalities to the wedding favors and plan out their selection carefully.

The first step in choosing the right wedding favor is to decide what the bride’s personality is? Is she the classic bride type? Or is she more of a bride diva? Would you describe her as a natural bride, a romantic bride or a fashion hot plate? Is she hip, modern or traditional?

Once you have narrowed down the bride’s personality, what about the groom? Is he a relaxed, easy-going gent or is an uptight, high-strung corporate type? Is he into sports or computers? Is he romantic?

Your wedding favors may at times seem like they are the smallest detail to your wedding and almost forgettable among the millions of other bridal decisions but they are your chance to create a lasting impression on your guests because they are often the part of your wedding that they will take home with them.

If the couple’s personalities are the same than the selection is a little easier. The classic couple will be more comfortable with Jordan almonds in a small tulle bag wrapped in ribbon. Or a chocolate truffle in a sophisticated box, or mints in little silver candy liners. Place card frames can double as a seating reminder and a keepsake. Tiny ringing bells at each place setting, is very ritualistic and used to signal the couple to kiss.

If the couple loves nature than the favors should reflect their lifestyle. Handing out packets of seeds, or flower bulbs or even lavender potpourri pouches that are filled with fragrant aromatherapy can relax guests. Couples into creating Zen-like memories can give meditation stones to their guests.

Weddings are all about romance and what better favors to give out when a couple is celebrating their love then heart shaped candies in small heart containers, or love notes, monogrammed matchbooks, or candy kisses. Heart shaped anything goes over really well at weddings. Fortune cookies with love messages are a favorite.

One thoughtful favor is a pile of pennies wrapped in wedding lace. All the pennies should have the year of the wedding on them and be shiny and new. Attach a card to the wrapped lace pennies and tell each guest to toss them into a fountain making a wish for happiness, peace and love.

If the bride and groom have opposite personalities, you can choose wedding favors that express each of their spirits in compatible favors like salt and peppershakers. Pick their favorite candies and tie them together with ribbon and put one on each place setting.

One crowd pleaser that every couple can agree on is the disposable camera given to each guests so that they can take their own pictures of the wedding. If nothing else comes to mind are the ever-popular wedding bubbles.

What ever you choose as your wedding favors let it show your guests that you thought enough of them to give something back to them that they will find pleasurable, tasty, or amusing. Weddings are all about celebrating love and making memories, what better way of sharing this then with a wedding favors.
